Purpley Feathery Socks and Flowers

Here are the beginnings of my Japanese Feather Sock. I'm using Cascade Fixation which is a cotton elastic blend. I started out using a size 2 needle and it was a bit snug, I frogged and switched to a size 3. Still a bit snug at the top of the cuff..but I am hoping that with washing and wearing they'll loosen up a hair. Cool pattern for Fixation though, really shows off the colors.

This is my new and favorite knitting bag, just the right size for socks and it never tips! Picked this one up at Ewe-nique Knits in Royal Oak. They're sewn by some local gals and they come in some really cute prints.

I'm knitting inside today, as anyone in SE Michigan can tell you it's hot enough to fry an egg on concrete today. Nice and humid too. But I managed to deal with the heat long enough to get some shots of my just starting to bloom flowers. Not sure what they are, some variety of bachelor button I believe. Pretty though and sort of purpley feathery just like the socks :-)

I neglected to post pics of the Blue Faced Leicester wool that I picked up at the sheep and wool fest in Romeo. I have about 500 yards of worsted weight. I think I am going to keep it in it's natural color. It has a beautiful natural sheen to it and is soft soft soft!

Any suggestions for what to make with it?

I have a couple of thoughts but I'd like to hear what you fellow knitters might have in mind.

great socks - I love the colors :) It's been terribly humid here also, I stupidly went out to plant and just about did myself in! Your new knitting bag does look unique! Enjoy :)

Lovely socks! I have looked at that pattern - maybe now I'll make a pair too.
I never found Fixation to loosen up for me - actually just the opposite (maybe because I throw them in the washer and dryer?? Ya think?!)
Cute little bag too! I might have to be a copy cat and make one of those too - I hope you don't mind~

Because my last comment contained stupidity, I erased it. Love the sock pattern, think I might use it for the sock yarn I just dyed. I know you said you're thinking to keep the yarn its natural color, but come on! You know you want to dye it! I'm just not in a neural color place right now: BTW, love the name of the blog and especially the picture. Beetlejuice?

Ah, pee wee, I knew it had to be a cult classic! And I completely forgot that Burton did that one. I'm staying off the roads today, lest some other rodent drop out of a tree or something. They're crafty I tell ya.

Hi there it's me again. I just read your comment on my blog. In regards to the Muse Hat:

Round 3: *sl 1, k1, psso, yfwd, rep from * to last stitch, k1.

Are you doing the yfwd before the last stitch, k1 ? if you aren't this would make you lose a stitch. email me if you need any more info.
