Here are the beginnings of my Japanese Feather Sock. I'm using Cascade Fixation which is a cotton elastic blend. I started out using a size 2 needle and it was a bit snug, I frogged and switched to a size 3. Still a bit snug at the top of the cuff..but I am hoping that with washing and wearing they'll loosen up a hair. Cool pattern for Fixation though, really shows off the colors.
This is my new and favorite knitting bag, just the right size for socks and it never tips! Picked this one up at Ewe-nique Knits in Royal Oak. They're sewn by some local gals and they come in some really cute prints.
I'm knitting inside today, as anyone in SE Michigan can tell you it's hot enough to fry an egg on concrete today. Nice and humid too. But I managed to deal with the heat long enough to get some shots of my just starting to bloom flowers. Not sure what they are, some variety of bachelor button I believe. Pretty though and sort of purpley feathery just like the socks :-)
I neglected to post pics of the Blue Faced Leicester wool that I picked up at the sheep and wool fest in Romeo. I have about 500 yards of worsted weight. I think I am going to keep it in it's natural color. It has a beautiful natural sheen to it and is soft soft soft!
Any suggestions for what to make with it?
I have a couple of thoughts but I'd like to hear what you fellow knitters might have in mind.
