Funkadelic

Yeah, I'm still here. I am still swilling around in my funk, trying to make sense of it and trying to make some sort of plan of action to haul my butt out of it. I really don't know what the deal is. Sometimes I think that because I work with so many older people who tell me "don't get old" and other statements along those lines it really hits me hard. We really do have a finite amount of time on this planet and the use of that time really comes to the forefront of our thoughts as we get older. I sure as hell don't want to be one of those people who go through life, going through the motions with a list of regrets and things undone. Middle aged crazy? I suppose.

As for knitting the only thing that I've been working on for the last two weeks are some hats for the Dulaan project. If you've never heard of it, it's a charity that sends warm woolies to the impoverished people of Mongolia so that they can get through their harsh winters. I've got four done and started my fifth today.

I have a two day weekend this week, I took my "extra" day off for working the holiday. I'm hoping to get some stuff in to my Etsy store and work on some new designs and some old standbys.
My friend Cyndi is in town from DC and we plan on going out to lunch tomorrow in AA. Should be fun. Maybe if I get out for a day it'll un-funk me a little bit.

Speaking of funk and downright funky. I don't know how your workplace is but I work with some real characters. Here's one of them.............I give you Bob the angry squirrel.

Everyone have a great week and watch out for the squirrel...........

Glad to see you!

Your hats are cute and you are awesome. I really should do some charity knitting.

Good on you for knitting those hats - you're a good egg. :)

I hope the funk you're in eases off a little. I know what it's like to work with the elderly and frail and how difficult it is to switch off.

I wonder if that's why I don't seem to grow up? Perhaps you should work in a school instead?

Lovely charity knitting. I should get of my butt and do some of that!

i'm in a bad mood today, too. let's get out of this funk.

my getting out of a funk usually involves lots of self-indulgence (which i don't have time for) and candy (which doesn't go well with swimsuit weather).

Great hats!

I think we all get in the age funk - my 87 year old Mom says it best - when you are feeling old and sorry for yourself, consider the alternative. Then she laughs!

From your harpy friend :-)

A little laughter goes a long way: good colleagues make all the difference. Hope you have a good weekend!!!!

Wow the squirrel guy is talented! Sorry you're in a funk. Your hats are lovely, and it's wonderful that you do charity knitting. I hope you feel better soon.

Love the hats! Hope the funk passes soon. You're fabulous, and don't let anyone (least of all yourself) tell you otherwise!

#1: The funk, it doesn't matter what age, it happens. If you figure out how to get out of it, please let me know? Or maybe go get a new tattoo?

#2: I love the hats. I might feel guilty about not doing charity knitting if I wasn't so frickin' busy LOL. Reward yourself with a new tattoo.

#3: Your coworker is halarious! Does he have a angry squirrel tattoo?

#4: yes, I want a new one myself but can't afford it. It's on my brain.

#5: You make all that jewelry correct? Can you get inspire to make a skull something for me? Like a pendant?
